Identify what the ghost represents
The default ghost is a synthetic forty-word-per-minute guide. It moves at a generated pace and is labeled accordingly. It does not represent a person, a previous customer or a leaderboard position.
A saved own or friend ghost instead contains timestamped progress points from a local run. The display interpolates between those points. It is a replay, so another browser does not need to be connected at the same time.
Match the passage and settings
The import checks the exact target text, challenge code, passage set and duration. A different challenge cannot be silently compared merely because its final score looks similar. Interrupted or incomplete-duration records are rejected unless the full passage was completed.
These structural checks do not prove identity or prevent someone from editing a JSON file. Ghosts are self-reported practice records. The product does not market them as protected competition results.
Share explicitly
The challenge link contains only configuration. A friend can open the same passage, complete a run and send you the exported JSON through a channel you choose. The site does not automatically message anyone or upload the file.
Save before closing the tab if you want to keep a run. There is no hidden browser backup, account history or remote leaderboard. The downloaded record is the portable copy.
